ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized individual to fill the role of Manager, High Performance Athlete Services. This role will manage key programs, including Sport Canada’s AAP/Carding and Sport Integrity Canada’s Anti-Doping program.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the sport system, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain fluid communication with key groups and members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Athlete Support Programs

  • Lead the coordination and submission the Sport Canada Athlete Assistance Program (AAP Carding) process, and act as main point of contact for carded athletes throughout the carding cycle.
  • Lead the anti-doping programs with Sport Integrity Canada, and World Aquatics, including whereabouts, NAP
  • Lead, the Canadian Athlete Insurance Program (CAIP) claims program.
  • Lead and act as main contact with Bell Athletes Connect and other similar programs.
  • Manage the Individual Athlete Support Program.
  • Manage the Friends and Family ticketing program.
  • Lead the dissemination of communications to athletes, coaches, staff, and to other groups as needed, ensuring consistent messaging and timely updates as needed.
  • Support the compliance and tracking process for National Team Travel requirements as needed.
  • Manage website updates for High Performance content as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, HP Athlete Engagement and Wellness as needed.

Projects and National Team Activities

  • Lead, coordinate or assist with other projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Lead the planning and execution as ‘logistics lead’ of national team activities as assigned.
  • Attend national team activities as onsite logistics lead and/or Team Manager as assigned.
  • All other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant work experience in a related organization, with knowledge of the high performance sport environment.
  • Knowledge of the high performance sport environment, including system structure (ie. Sport Canada, COC, CPC, Sport Integrity Canada, etc.), would be considered a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to work on a variety of projects at a time, and work comfortably in a deadline driven environment.
  • Service-minded with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong attention to detail and administrative skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong ability to work with One Drive, SharePoint, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365 etc.) and other programs/platforms.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills in English is required, with some independent ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French.
  • Ability to be consistent in the delivery of service to all groups.
  • Post-secondary education in sport management, sport science, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

WORK LOCATION

This position is based out of the Ottawa-office, two to three days a week in-person, with a Monday to Friday workweek. Ability to work a flexible work schedule and/or overtime as needed to meet the business needs. Occasional travel to attend meets, camps and national activities as required.

The Ottawa Office is located on the traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinabek People.

TOTAL REWARDS

The annual base salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and within a range of $55,000-60,000.
