Job Summary

Canada Soccer is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and relationship-driven Manager, Donor Relations & Gift Processing to lead donor engagement and stewardship efforts with a focus on high-net-worth individuals. This role is responsible for delivering an extraordinary donor experience, cultivating long-term relationships, and ensuring personalized, high-touch service that reflects the values and mission of Canada Soccer and the Canada Soccer Foundation.

This role supports the full lifecycle of giving, from responding to donor inquiries and building meaningful connections, to ensuring gifts are processed, recorded, receipted and reconciled with accuracy and care. The Manager will serve as the primary liaison for donor communications, benefit fulfillment, and stewardship initiatives, ensuring that every interaction is meaningful, timely, and tailored to the donor’s interests and impact. This role requires a deep understanding of donor motivations, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence in service delivery, and is best suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth and fast-paced environment. Philanthropy is a growing business unit, which means not every process is fully built. Success in this role requires adaptability, sound judgment, initiative, and a willingness to help create structure while maintaining exceptional service for donors.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Support the VP, Philanthropy in cultivating and managing relationships with high-net-worth donors and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and execution of personalized stewardship plans, ensuring alignment with donor expectations and strategic priorities.
  • Respond to donor inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
  • Coordinate benefit fulfillment, including ticketing, event access, and behind-the-scenes experiences.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for donors and the public by phone and email, responding to inquiries with warmth, accuracy, and timeliness while escalating issues as needed.

Experience Management

  • Design and manage donor journeys that reflect the values and priorities of Canada Soccer and the Canada Soccer Foundation.
  • Deliver exceptional donor experiences at matches, tournaments, and special events, either developed internally or in partnership with marketing and/or event teams as appropriate
  • Ensure seamless integration of donor benefits with CRM and member portal systems.

Donor Data, CRM Management & Insights

  • Serve as the primary administrator and internal expert for the donor CRM (DonorPerfect), including user support and process improvements.
  • Manage donor and constituent data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, completeness, and ongoing database quality through regular reviews and updates.
  • Produce reports, analytics, and insights on donor activity, giving trends, retention, stewardship, and engagement to support fundraising and leadership decision-making.
  • Maintain comprehensive donor records to support effective donor engagement strategies.

Gift Processing & Receipting

  • Receive, process, and record all donations (mail, online, phone, EFT)
  • Administer recurring giving, including monitoring and follow-up on failed payments
  • Process gifts of securities in coordination with financial partners
  • Issue accurate charitable tax receipts and acknowledgements in compliance with CRA guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate with the VP, Philanthropy and internal teams to execute donor engagement strategies aligned with organizational fundraising goals.
  • Contribute to the development of donor recognition programs and stewardship campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in donor engagement practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in donor or partner relations, stewardship, or major gifts, preferably in a sport or nonprofit environment.
  • Demonstrated success building and stewarding relationships with high-net-worth individuals and key stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of fundraising best practices, donation administration, donor recognition, CRA receipting, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., DonorPerfect), donor databases, and recurring donation/payment processing.
  • Proficiency in financial reconciliation, reporting, Excel, and data management.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills in English; French is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

Job Details

This full-time, permanent role has an annual salary range of $60,000 to $80,000, with a comprehensive benefits package. The final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. This is a replacement position and offers flexibility to work either fully on-site in Toronto or in a hybrid arrangement out of the Toronto Office.
