Position: Ecommerce Specialist

Reports to: Senior Manager, Retail Systems & Ecommerce

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ecommerce Specialist is responsible for driving the financial performance of our website, Vanbase.ca. This role oversees all on-site sales and campaign management, product content organization, and site merchandising initiatives.  This includes managing the activation and optimization of the onsite shopping experience, developing and delivering and overall ecommerce strategy, working cross functionally with Digital Marketing, Brand, Content, and Operations teams to effectively support day-to-day ecommerce projects and retail digital marketing.  In addition, the Ecommerce Specialist will establish and track metrics for success and recommend strategies to improve overall experience, ultimately driving revenue growth.

The role encompasses vision and strategy, as well as tactical execution.

Content & Merchandising

  • Working with the Retail Sr. Manager, develop and implement vision and strategy for Vanbase.ca, supporting all our areas of business; Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Warriors, Seattle Surge, and Rogers Arena events
  • Coordinate and execute regular product uploads, seasonal launches, and product releases.
  • Overseeing product and content merchandising, ensuring accuracy, brand alignment, and operational goals
  • Maintain Category Structure, product tagging, and merchandising rules to support discoverability

Operations & Analytics

  • Manage eCommerce release schedule and planning in coordination with Brand, Marketing, and Operations
  • Monitor Site Health, broken links, and page load performance.
  • Implement and maintain Shopify Apps and integrated technologies.
  • Manage product and page metadata to increase discoverability and SEO performance
  • Track KPI’s (conversion, CTR, bounce, sell-through) and prepare weekly reports for leadership.
  • Research ecommerce and digital merchandising trends to help evolve best practices
  • Stay up to date on sports and fashion industry trends

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • At least two years of experience in managing a significant ecommerce website
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong background in digital marketing principles such as funnel optimization UX, SEO & Landing Page optimization
  • The ability to quickly learn internal systems, processes, and software and web-based applications
  • Familiarity with retail and digital trends, technology, sports, and popular culture
  • The ability to work well within a team to come up with creative solutions and identify new opportunities, often in a high-pressure, fast changing environment
  • Great organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and outstanding time management skills
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
