POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Senior Coordinator, Content & Community plays a key role in how Golf Canada tells its story and engages golfers across the country. Working closely with the Manager, Digital Content Strategy, this position will help create, publish, and manage content that reflects Golf Canada’s brand, values, and mission.
You’ll collaborate across departments – from championships and commercial partnerships to player development and community programs – to bring golf stories to life. This role is ideal for a passionate storyteller who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to help grow the game of golf in Canada.

PRIMARY DUTIES: 

1. Content Creation & Publishing: 50%  

  • Develop and execute timely, engaging content (written, visual, and video) to support Golf Canada’s marketing and communications plans.
  • Create content that aligns with Golf Canada’s brand voice and enhances our storytelling across owned media channels.
  • Capture, edit, and produce video and photography content from Golf Canada competitions, programs and events (onsite and remote).
  • Schedule and publish content in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring quality and consistency across platforms.
  • Apply a holistic approach to ensure content is optimized for reach and engagement across channels.

2. Planning, Analysis & Reporting: 20%

  • Support the development of Golf Canada’s editorial calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic campaigns and organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to content planning and help develop innovative strategies to grow Golf Canada’s social media presence.
  • Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights that inform content strategy.
  • Use analytics and real-time data to adjust creative and tactical approaches for maximum impact.

3. Community Management:  25%

  • Engage authentically with followers, members, and fans across Golf Canada’s social channels.
  • Respond to comments, questions, and inquiries with professionalism and care, reflecting our commitment to community connection.
  • Monitor conversations and sentiment, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and brand loyalty.
  • Track and report community engagement trends using social media management software.

4. Other Duties: 5%

  • Build and maintain relationships with social media influencers, content partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Support Golf Canada’s cross-functional initiatives — including the RBC Canadian Open, CPKC Women’s Open, Amateur Championships, and grassroots programs.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture where creative ideas are valued.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES: 

  • A passion for golf, sports, or storytelling.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in content creation, community management, or a related communications role.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills with attention to tone and brand consistency.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Premiere Pro).
  • Understanding social media analytics, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sound judgment and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for events.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset; understanding of bilingual activities is essential to ensure comparable audience experiences.
  • Degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
